בס’ד Along Our Train Ride of Life, Oct. 2, 2022

Shalom dear readers:

By the grace of Hashem, we find ourselves still on the Train of Life. At this time of the year, the Yomim Noraim, we feel a sense of brotherhood, of “oness” with Hashem, brotherhood of Klal Yisrael.  We each do our ‘hachana l’mitzvah.’  We rush to the synagogue early to meditate, to get ‘in the mood’ for all the prayers to follow. We know that we have made mistakes, and have what to repent for. Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach tried to have us to also remember all the POSITIVE things that we do, the little acts of kindness that we perform, the smile we give to a passerby, the phone calls that we may to near and far, just to uplift a person alone, in need of some encouragement and love sent over the wires. We all have things that we regret, but let us remember on our train ride the POSITIVE THINGS that we do while on our train ride of life.

Every day in life may not be good, but there is always something good in every day! GRATITUDE  for all that we do for ourselves, and for others keeps us on the right track of life’s journey as we travel before we must leave the train at some point of life. Our Jewish prayer is an ongoing seminar of gratitude, and saying ‘Thank you’ to the One above for allowing us to continue on our ride along the train of life.

Rabbi Nahman of Breslov say, ‘Mitzvah gedola lihyot b’simcha.” It is a major deed to be happy, despite the trials of life, our bumpy and frightening times on this journey.

Alongside our fellow members, we are encouraged by others and ourselves to feel and to show our GRATITUDE , our love and our hope to feel G.’s presence and to be thankful despite our trials and tribulations.

Once again, we take time to remember our loved ones who have left us. Let their memory remind us that tomorrow may never come. Let’s act today! Let us act TODAY to see the good in this world and to accent the positive.  Our prayers and songs help to elevate our souls as does the sound of the Shofar throughout.

And so, I give you each my best wishes for a  good adjustment to whatever awaits us in this coming year and let’s remember that the sun will follow the rain. G. Bless all of us!
